Information on the Exemption Test for CIS 102

CIS 102 (Application Software) is a required course for CIS majors, but you
can be exempted from taking the course if you already have the skills you will learn from the
course.
If you take the exam and pass it, you will be exempted from the requirement to take the course. But beware! You will not get any credit hours , and cannot take the course .
This test will be given every time before CIS 102 is provided. So if you are not going to take CIS 102 this Fall, you may not need to take the exam at this time.
What you need to buy: SimNet
Proficiency (available at the Lander
University Bookstore, or can be purchased online
http://lander.simnetonline.com/)
o After purchasing SimNet Proficiency, you will have to register yourself via http://lander.simnetonline.com/ before exam. Please see the instruction by clicking here.
o You need the “exam code” for the SimNet Proficiency package to take the exam.
o You will use the computers in LL 203 for exam.
o The exam will be given at the place and time described below.

Time: 12:30 pm, September 1st (Monday), 2008

Course Objectives - This course is designed to enable students to improve their personal productivity as knowledge workers. Topics include advanced software functionality, organization and management of data, Web page design and publishing, effective presentation design and delivery. Course environment will include both lectures and laboratory experience.
