Lander University is a Division III rugby club in the Palmetto Rugby Union. Our entire organization is governed by the USA Rugby Union.
USA Rugby > USA Rugby South (Territory) > Palmetto Rugby Union (Local Union)
Each Spring, Lander University Rugby Club competes against other Division III teams within the Palmetto Union. The Division champ will then compete against the other local champions of the USA Rugby South territory. The winner of this tournament will then go on to compete for a national championship against other territory champs.

Palmetto Division II Team:
Clemson is the only Division I team in the state and they are part of the Georgia Rugby Union.
In addition to competing for a National Championship, each fall the Palmetto Union has try-outs for the collegiate select side. This select side then travels to play against the other select sides from the USA Rugby South territory. Selectors watch these games to select players to compete on the USA Rugby South Select Side. These players then compete against the other 8 territorial select sides and compete for spots on the National team the USA Eagles and/or the Collegiate All American team .
